Nastro

‘My inspiration comes from objects and feelings that accompanied my childhood. The Sicilian holidays during my childhood, bring magical memories and remain a constant source of inspiration. I have always thought of lava flow as a ribbon that winds along the slopes of Etna - fluid, fast, and always different. The possibility of replicating the evolution of that ribbon in wood and its interchangeable movement has always been an endless fascination of mine’.

The result of that fascination is Nastro – a form of intriguing, sculptural decoration, always changing and constantly offering new experiences when viewed from different perspectives. 

The piece can be combined infinitely by adding other modules or it can be used to display flowers, fruit or simply enjoyed on its own.  The thickness of the wood and its junction points gives the piece its solidity and firmness, whilst its bending shape and swirls add a layer of playfulness and visual engagement.
