KATHA PRIVACY POLICY

We value your trust, and your privacy is of the highest importance to us. We only collect data that is needed to conduct our business efficiently, and we use any information carefully, and in accordance with current data legislation.

We do not rent, sell or exchange information with outside companies for mailing or marketing purposes, and we would never disclose the information we hold unless we are obliged to do so by law.

 

OUR MAILING LIST

We send an email newsletter out only a few times a year with details of new products, projects and ‘behind the scenes stories from our studio and our artisan workshops. 

Our mailing list consists solely of the email address of individuals who sign up via our website mailing list link; at a trade show or exhibition; at our studio events; customers who place online orders; or those with requests for samples or information about our products. We hold our mailing list on Mailchimp which includes an unsubscribe feature that is effective instantly and permanently. You can find this at the bottom of every newsletter.

 

OTHER INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you place an order with us by email, telephone or via our website, we require the information to fulfil that transaction. This includes name, address, email address and telephone number. We store this data on our computer and in manual files and use it in order to make the transaction. We take all reasonable steps in order to ensure that this data on our held computers and in manual files are stored safely and securely.

 

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

- In order to process and fulfil your purchase transactions, including securely providing only the necessary data to our appointed financial transaction services and our courier services

- In order to respond to sales, press and other enquiries

- In order to send you occasional and relevant information via our newsletters

 

REMOVING YOUR INFORMATION FROM OUR MAILING LIST

You can unsubscribe from our mailing list via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter we send out. This is effective immediately and permanently.

COOKIES

SQUARESPACE

Our store is hosted on Squarespace, Inc. (Squarespace). They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Squarespace's data storage, databases and the general Squarespace application. They store your data on secure databases protected via a variety of industry-standard access controls. Secure passwords, SSL encryption, disk-based encryption, firewalls, and other measures are in place that helps them to protect your data. However, no company, including Squarespace, can fully eliminate security risks associated with the transmission of personal information through online transactions, and you do so at your own risk.

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

Squarespace uses third-party payment processors to assist it in processing your personally identifiable payment information securely. Such third party processors’ use of your personal information is governed by their respective privacy policies which may or may not contain privacy protections as protective as this privacy policy. Payments for our products are currently processed and managed using the third party vendor Paypal. You can read their privacy policy here

Squarespace uses the services of Peer1 Hosting for their website and for Squarespace managed websites. Personal information hosted by or through Squarespace is subject to Peer1 Hosting’s privacy policy which may or may not contain terms as protective as this privacy policy.
